23 January 2026    To Whom It May Concern    As managing editor of the Bonner County Daily Bee, I can't recommend Jack Freeman highly enough for the Rookie of the Year honor.  As our education and city reporter, Jack is able to write in a variety of styles; he is a bright, intelligent writer and photographer, dedicated to telling a complete story, through words, pictures and video. He is able to connect with all sides of a story, putting them at ease and getting to the heart of the story. It’s a skill that can be a challenge for even veteran reporters to master, yet it’s one that comes easily to him.  Jack meticulously researches his stories, and is able to write everything from business stories to features. He is self-directed yet able to work as a team, collaborating on stories, pitching both ideas that add to the success of the story but also his time to ensure it is the best article possible. His stories are well-written, both factual and interesting and, at the same time, telling all sides.  I can't think of a more worthy recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award than Jack.           Caroline Lobsinger  Bonners Ferry Herald/Bonner County Daily Bee  Managing editor
